This online course is for mandatory reporters who come into contact with clients who may use alcohol or other drugs, or their families. Mandatory reporters are those who deliver health care, welfare, education, children’s services, residential services, or law enforcement, wholly or partly, to children and young people; or hold a management position in organisations which deliver such services.

Learn about the impact of alcohol and other drugs; the signs of withdrawal; and how to work with clients who have problematic alcohol or other drug use – including monitoring and responding to risk concerns for children and young people whose parents or carers use substances.

This interactive course includes work-based examples, activities and an opportunity to test your knowledge in a short quiz.
